Application

• Designed to close automatically under fire conditions to maintain the integrity of internal fire compartment walls.
• Sentinel Door Systems 1, 2 and 4 hour fire resistant, roller shutter doors provide an effective barrier to protect lives and properties.

Fire resistance

• Tested in accordance with BS476: part 22: 1987, for up to 4 hours fire resistance.
• Assessed for openings up to 7000mm wide x 7000mm high.
• Individual assessments available for larger openings.

Operation

• Hand chain/pull cord or electrical operation, both benefit from a built-in feature that allows the shutter to self-close automatically under a controlled descent.
Electrically operated shutters are provided with emergency hand chains.

Activation

• Activated by a thermal fusible link release unit when the local temperature reaches 68 degrees centigrade.
The shutter will self-close under a controlled descent.
This feature also benefits from a manual test and re-set facility.
• Alternatively, the shutter can be linked into the buildings fire alarm system via a 24 volt, solenoid release unit.
Upon activation, the shutter will self-close under a controlled descent.
This feature also benefits from:
 Fusible link failsafe back-up, provided as standard.
Manual test facility.
Manual or electrical re-set facility.

Fire control panel

 Offered as an additional extra, its features include:
• Timed delay.
• Audio-visual warning.
• 2 stage closing.
• Can be activated by volt free, normally open or normally closed contacts.
• Self contained batteries to maintain the panel in the event of a power failure.

Curtain

Constructed from galvanised interlocking curved sections of suitable gauge to suit the shutter size and required fire resistance, each alternate lath is fitted with a malleable steel endlock to prevent lateral movement.

Bottom Rail

The base of the curtain is fitted with an inverted galvanised ‘T’ section.

Side Guides

Formed from galvanised mild steel channel sections secured to the opening structure by continuous galvanised angles.

Roller Assembly

Constructed from mild steel tube, laser cut mild steel spools and machined bright steel shafts.
Running in self lubricating pedestal bearing block/safety brake (anti fall back device).
Chain reduction drive gearing.

Endplates

The roller assembly is supported by mild steel endplates with mounting angles for fixing to the support structure.

Coil Casing

Provided as standard - formed from galvanised pressed sheet metal to enclose the rear of the shutter barrel and curtain assembly.
